Applications of Text Mining in the Transportation Infrastructure Sector: A Review

Transportation infrastructure is vital to the well-functioning of economic activities in a region. Due digitalization data storage, ease access large databases, and advancement social media, volumes text that relate different aspects transportation are generated. Text mining techniques can explore any amount textual within limited time with resource allocation for generating easy-to-understand knowledge. This study aims provide comprehensive review various applications research. The scope this research ranges across all forms infrastructure-related problems or issues were investigated by techniques. These may involve such as crashes accidents investigation, driving behavior analysis, construction activities. A Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis (PRISMA)-based structured methodology was used identify relevant studies implemented issues. total 59 from both U.S. other parts world (e.g., China, Bangladesh) ultimately selected after rigorous quality check. results show apart simple pre-processing, majority topic modeling detailed evaluation data.
